2 Weeks at the Beach!

Day 1

For the next two weeks I will be living at the Beach House! My good friend Kelly and her 4 year old daughter Brenna have gone to Disneyland, and since I couldn't go with them I was left behind to care for the house, 2 kitty's, and a fish! House sitting isn't everyones favourite thing but housesitting Kelly and Brenna's house is a treat! I have a beautiful ocean view from my window and am only a 30sec walk from the beach. I was out yesterday afternoon taking a few photos to share....unfortunately I forgot my camera cord at home so I will not be able to share them with you today.

My beach house stay is going to be a time of relaxation, walks along the beach, and of course SEWING!
Kelly's dinning table has already been converted into my sewing room with both machines set up and a box of fabric just waiting to be made into something! The first project is a balloon skirt for Brenna in pink and purple, it will be ready when she returns from Princess land. Next is something creative.... I don't know what it is yet but I need to come up with an original idea for my Etsy page because my Etsy store is not doing so well. If you have any great ideas of something you would love but no one makes it let me know and I can see if it's something I can make!

Tomorrows post will have photos, I Promise!

Bye till Then!

Etsy!

If you have not yet been on Etsy you must go and check it out. What a cool idea. When people ask me what Etsy is I tell them it is like ebay but for crafters. It is filled with vintage items and homemade treasures! You can find anything and everything you could ever want on Etsy. And what a great way to support local and international artisans rather then buying items that have been mass produced. Etsy is a great place to find unique items for yourself or to make a great gift.

Now that I have put in my two sense about Etsy you can check it out and look at my little shop!!

Here is the link!!

What's New

Finally a look at what I have been doing this year. Soon you will see these scarves flying off the shelf of my Etsy Store! Can't wait to have people all over the world wearing my scarves! Dream come true!

That is the last of the winter stuff for now. Next is a summer line of neck scarves that double as a headband and long light scarves that add femininity to any outfit without making you overheat!

My Camera Is Back!!

After a long trip around the world, stopping in Paris, Africa, and Greece, my camera has returned! Now if you can't travel sending your camera to travel for you is the best idea because it comes back with tons of memories to share with you. Take a look at what my camera saw...

Along the river in Africa!

 A Local Watering Hole!

Sand Surfing in the Desert

These four boys came out of the bush when they saw my dads kite flying up in the air. They didn't speak any english but my dad had fun trying to teach them how to fly a kite!

They Donated this van to a local orphanage. The children were so excited!

This little boy had a big affect on my dad while at the orphanage. He was found by the local police in a ditch. This orphanage usually only takes orphans that have distant relatives that cannot take care of them when there parents die. They made an exception for this little boy who had no family at all.

The Beauty of Athens Greece.

And Now Off To Paris!

My camera needed a pair of legs so my dad went along! Thanks Daddy for all the wonderful pictures, and bring my camera safely home filled with memories and dreams for the future!

Because Every Princess Should Be A Designer

I am so excited about the things I have been working on lately, and my most favoritest ever is the dress I made for the little girl I babysit. She is a high energy 4 year old with the cutest style. I recently asked her if she would like me to make her a dress as she has been very excited about the sewing lessons I have been giving her mom. She smiled and was a little confused. So I asked her to pick out her favorite dress from her closet. She proceeded to choose a very cute blue polka dot summer dress. So I took measurements and asked what she would like her new dress to look like. "PINK!!!" was all I was given as a reference! So I went to work and reproduced her favorite dress but in pink! Here is the result. It is not quite complete because after trying it on she has requested pink bows to finish off the straps!

There are some blog errors it "seams"(lol) so I will redirect you to my facebook page for photos!!

Sorry!

The Arrival of Buttons!

Like you know if you read my last post my dad is currently in Africa. He must have known I would miss him so he set it up that half way through his trip a parcel would be mailed to me!!! What a wonderful father I have. Not only is it great to receive mail, it is great when that mail is a box filled with vintage buttons!!! My collection of buttons is growing and with each new discovery comes this excitement that is beyond any other excitement! I love sifting through the new buttons and looking for pairs, and discovering that the neatest most delightful buttons almost always stand alone, making them even more unique! It might be unhealthy to love something so small and so plastic.... or genuine leather like some of my new buttons.... but it really is a passion for creating and designing that shines through my face! I feel blessed to have the passions God has given me and to be able to make other people happy through the things I create!

Most recently I received a phone call from a family friend who wanted to order some scarves for some teen girls. Over the phone she described to me the unique personality of each girl, their usual style, and a list of their favourite colours. From there I was instructed to have fun, be creative, and use whatever fabric I thought would suit her description. Oh how fun that trip to fabricland was!!! I found the most beautiful fabrics that amazingly matched each description perfectly, one a bright multicoloured pattern that was silky and soft, matched with possibly the coolest multicoloured buttons I have ever seen, and the other a more tame neutral palate with rich blues, greys, whites, and blacks blended into a stunning, very sophisticated pattern, paired with grey metal looking buttons. Very classy. Very Fun. I hope they love them as much as I did!

Thats all that has been up lately. Maybe if you ordered things too I would tell stories about you!!! Just Kidding! Love you all. Thanks for supporting me and reading my blog!

Imagine My Suprise

A tragedy has occurred. I don't know how it took me this long to realize, but over Christmas my camera broke. It has been good to me, it lasted many years and has gone on many underwater adventures and produced many lovely photos. When it came to my blog I liked to take photos with my other camera...my expensive camera! It was originally my dads and when I started to show an interest in photography he shipped it out to me and told me never to send it back! What a lovely gift! Anyways, my dad is currently on a bit of a world trip! He made a stop in Paris on his way to Niger, Africa! He will be in Africa for a month and then is moving on to spend two weeks in Athens Greece! He is working with the missionary families that we support, a dream that he has always had. Because I wanted to see every single part of his trip I insisted that he take the camera with him. As excited as I am to see pictures of Paris, Africa, and Greece, I have discovered it is hard to take pictures of my most recent work without a camera. I tried taking photos with my iphone but they are just not working out for me. Nothing beats the quality of a great camera. SO my overall point is that I can't take photos for the next month until my camera returns from its travels. We are all praying it returns in one piece and brings my dad along with it. So until then I will have to intrigue you with my words. But I have no time for that in this instant, so ill get back to you on that! Enjoy your day, I hope it is as sunny as mine.
