TUTU Much Fun

Oh it has been way too long since I found my way to this page to update you on how SEW wonderful life is! See what I did there! Sew wonderful!

To be honest sewing hasn't been as wonderful as usual because I have been demoted in my job due to lake of interest in medical alert bracelets. But that is okay because that leaves me more time to do personal sewing which is way more fun anyways, and hopefully one day it will bring in as much money as sewing medical alert bracelets.

Anyways, on to the good things and pictures!

I most recently made a giant tutu for a friend of mine who is going to wear it to a music festival some time in July I believe. I had never done a tutu before but they are surprisingly easy. They require a lot of cutting and a lot of tying but believe it or not almost no sewing. Now you may wonder how a non-sewing project could be any fun at all but believe me when your final project is as delightfully puffy as this

You won't even mind that you only put a few hand stitches into it.

Since this tutu project was so fun I have been thinking about ways to make the tutu even better. Well we all know that little girls love to wear a big pink tutu, but we also know that it is sometimes unpractical to wear a tutu to certain social event! Well my next project is a solution to this problem. Just imagine a tutu that has a zip on circle skirt! Oh yes I am sew very excited for this one!

Now that I don't have a job I will be posting soon!

Day 6 At the Beach

So I did not follow through on my promise. There are still no pictures and it is four days later. I must be the least reliable blogger ever. But before you get too upset you should know that I had an adventure filled weekend that resulted in me not even opening my computer...not even for homework... oops. My mom flew in on Friday which if you know my mother then you know that I was in for a packed weekend. Friday was filled with grocery shopping for gluten, dairy, and sugar free foods. Sounds nasty I know but my mother has a way of making health amazingly delicious! Anyways, after shopping we went for a walk on the beach, jumped on the trampoline, and ate way to much popcorn at the Hunger Games! Saturday morning started with a road trip to Tofino and hours of fun listening to music in the car. Next was surfing since thats the best thing to do while in Tofino. Mom did great and was standing by her 6th wave. I finally go the last piece of surfing equipment that I needed and now own full surf gear, it is going to be a fun surfing summer! Next was the long drive home followed by a movie night at home. Sunday was a sleep in day followed by..... you guessed it.... more exercise! We went for a nice hike up to some beautiful falls. Oh and before that we played frisbee golf at the park... SO FUN! Next was another great movie night followed by a great sleep. Monday was our last day so we headed to Coombs to do a little shopping at the market, a rollerblade in park and lunch at Earls then off to the airport to end the weekend the way it started. A great weekend with mom filled with activity and healthy food...too bad she doesn't live and cook for me all the time! Ill miss you mom but now its time to get to work and finish this paper that is haunting me!

SO without any pictures and four days late I apologize and will strive to be better and get my camera working. You need to see the sewing projects I'm working on while I'm here! Its so fun to take a holiday, even if it is just down the street from your own home!

Bye for now! I have a paper to write :(

2 Weeks at the Beach!

Day 1

For the next two weeks I will be living at the Beach House! My good friend Kelly and her 4 year old daughter Brenna have gone to Disneyland, and since I couldn't go with them I was left behind to care for the house, 2 kitty's, and a fish! House sitting isn't everyones favourite thing but housesitting Kelly and Brenna's house is a treat! I have a beautiful ocean view from my window and am only a 30sec walk from the beach. I was out yesterday afternoon taking a few photos to share....unfortunately I forgot my camera cord at home so I will not be able to share them with you today.

My beach house stay is going to be a time of relaxation, walks along the beach, and of course SEWING!
Kelly's dinning table has already been converted into my sewing room with both machines set up and a box of fabric just waiting to be made into something! The first project is a balloon skirt for Brenna in pink and purple, it will be ready when she returns from Princess land. Next is something creative.... I don't know what it is yet but I need to come up with an original idea for my Etsy page because my Etsy store is not doing so well. If you have any great ideas of something you would love but no one makes it let me know and I can see if it's something I can make!

Tomorrows post will have photos, I Promise!

Bye till Then!

Etsy!

If you have not yet been on Etsy you must go and check it out. What a cool idea. When people ask me what Etsy is I tell them it is like ebay but for crafters. It is filled with vintage items and homemade treasures! You can find anything and everything you could ever want on Etsy. And what a great way to support local and international artisans rather then buying items that have been mass produced. Etsy is a great place to find unique items for yourself or to make a great gift.

Now that I have put in my two sense about Etsy you can check it out and look at my little shop!!

Here is the link!!

What's New

Finally a look at what I have been doing this year. Soon you will see these scarves flying off the shelf of my Etsy Store! Can't wait to have people all over the world wearing my scarves! Dream come true!

That is the last of the winter stuff for now. Next is a summer line of neck scarves that double as a headband and long light scarves that add femininity to any outfit without making you overheat!

My Camera Is Back!!

After a long trip around the world, stopping in Paris, Africa, and Greece, my camera has returned! Now if you can't travel sending your camera to travel for you is the best idea because it comes back with tons of memories to share with you. Take a look at what my camera saw...

Along the river in Africa!

 A Local Watering Hole!

Sand Surfing in the Desert

These four boys came out of the bush when they saw my dads kite flying up in the air. They didn't speak any english but my dad had fun trying to teach them how to fly a kite!

They Donated this van to a local orphanage. The children were so excited!

This little boy had a big affect on my dad while at the orphanage. He was found by the local police in a ditch. This orphanage usually only takes orphans that have distant relatives that cannot take care of them when there parents die. They made an exception for this little boy who had no family at all.

The Beauty of Athens Greece.

And Now Off To Paris!

My camera needed a pair of legs so my dad went along! Thanks Daddy for all the wonderful pictures, and bring my camera safely home filled with memories and dreams for the future!

Because Every Princess Should Be A Designer

I am so excited about the things I have been working on lately, and my most favoritest ever is the dress I made for the little girl I babysit. She is a high energy 4 year old with the cutest style. I recently asked her if she would like me to make her a dress as she has been very excited about the sewing lessons I have been giving her mom. She smiled and was a little confused. So I asked her to pick out her favorite dress from her closet. She proceeded to choose a very cute blue polka dot summer dress. So I took measurements and asked what she would like her new dress to look like. "PINK!!!" was all I was given as a reference! So I went to work and reproduced her favorite dress but in pink! Here is the result. It is not quite complete because after trying it on she has requested pink bows to finish off the straps!

There are some blog errors it "seams"(lol) so I will redirect you to my facebook page for photos!!

Sorry!
